Host
Hello — I’m Emily, host and founder of Writings From Her Corner. I began this group to build community and hold a safe space for people to come together to write, share, and gain inspiration.
Whether you’re a seasoned writer, a poet, a journaler, or new to the craft, we welcome all types of writing and encourage non-judgmental creative expression.
I’ve hosted over 50 sessions in the last two years, ranging from our standard writing sessions to mediation sound baths, flower bars, picnics, open mic nights, and scrap socials. My favorite parts of WFHC are the friendships I’ve developed, sharing time, and watching members grow in their writing & confidence.
A little bit about me - I am a recent graduate from Indiana University - Indianapolis with a bachelor’s degree in communication studies, a minor in women’s, gender, and sexuality studies, and a certificate in public relations. I’ve worked for various local nonprofits, including Girls Inc. of Greater Indianapolis, Indiana Humanities, Visit Indy, and PATTERN, Inc. I enjoy being creative, hanging out with my cats, and making meaningful connections.
